Mourning the Astroworld Catastrophe: A Haunting Disaster
International News — On November 5, Houston, Texas, the Astroworld Music Festival turned grisly during a Level One Mass Casualty Incident (MCI). About 50,000 concert goers were in attendance. The audience pushed toward the stage in what we’ve now begun to call a crowd surge. The current numbers are hard to pin down, but on November 6th CBS reported this:
“Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said at a Saturday afternoon news conference there were 25 people transported to the hospital, and 13 are still hospitalized. A 10-year-old is in critical condition, officials said. There were scores of other injuries, Peña said. At least 11 suffered cardiac arrest, he added. “
Over 200 people were treated at the festival. At least 10 people have passed away.
This is not the first time Travis Scott’s promoter, Live Nation Worldwide, has had a catastrophic event at their concert. New York Post reported this:
“The concert promoter behind Travis Scott’s deadly Astroworld Festival has seen a slew of tragedies at past events — with at least 750 injuries and around 200 deaths in the last 15 years, according to a review of records.“
We cannot fathom the pain these families must be going through, both knowing this tragic catastrophe caused the death or injury of their loved ones in what appears to be an avoidable situation. Our hearts and prayers go out to these families. Please pray for these families, first responders, Travis Scott, and all who attended the festival.
[Editor’s Note: In honor of the vast number of people affected by this disaster, we have chosen to delay our analysis of the situation at Astroworld until our first January edition. This will allow more time to pass and more information to be revealed through litigation. Please check out our January issue to read our research and analysis of this horrible event.]
