To start the new year, I have a new granddaughter, complete with attendant complications; unknown outcomes and future, joys and scares, waiting, hoping, praying, rejoicing over progress.
It occurred to me: what a perfect metaphor for the new year we are all facing. So many unknowns, ups and downs that always accompany life, seemingly magnified this year as we face many uncertainties and unknowns.
